A Brief View At The Nokia 808 Pure View

Nokia has released a mobile phone which till now is very much ahead in the pixel resolution and picture quality. The Nokia 808 pureview has been fitted with Nokia’s new technological marvel, a 41 megapixels camera sensor with pureview technology. The lens has been provided by Carl Zeiss which can be said as one of the famous names in optics. Below is a brief look the camera and other feature list of this one-of-a-kind device.
The operating system on the 808 belongs to Nokia’s famous Symbian family, the Belle which is showcased on a 4” 360×640 pixels display (yielding pixel density of approximately 184 ppi) with AMOLED backlighting and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Phone is provided the processing power from a 1.3 Ghz processor and a dedicated GPU. Possibly due to heavy camera equipment, the weight of the phone is nearly 169 g. The battery of 808 is rated at 1400 mAh claimed to provide about 460 hours standby time on 2G (525 hours on 3G) and about 9 hours of talk time on 2G (6.5 on 3G). An encouraging note that the battery of this device can be replaced in case a fault in born in it.
There is 16 Gb of internal memory available which can be expanded by a microSD card slot (supporting card of up to 32 GB potentially providing memory space of nearly 48 GB). The connectivity options include the most common Bluetooth, WiFi (b/g/n) and not yet so common NFC, USB on the go (which can allow connecting the phone to other usb devices and access their data).
The main strength of this phone can be said as its camera which allows taking picture at an impressive 41 megapixels (result of a technology developed by Nokia named ‘Pure View’ which is claimed as a software algorithm for overlapping pixels in a picture and attempting to improve the quality of the images being taken). The camera allows 4x loseless zoom meaning that the image may not ‘pixelate’ when the image is zoomed four times its resolution. Additionally the camera is complimented by a Xenon flash for still images and a LED light for video recording at 1080p with loseless digital zoom. For video recording, Nokia has incorporated stereo microphone for ‘Truly stereo’ recording. Nokia also claims that it has also focused on minute camera details as well. For example, they claim that the camera zoom has been made as silent as possible so that the sound generated by the lens’ movement is not included in the video being recorded.
For occasional photographers (not professionals) people preferring to carry a mobile camera for capturing random pictures, the Nokia 808 may be said as holding the top spot of the priority list with its exclusive resolution support and at the same time also providing most of the features found in modern high end device.
