NETWORK OPTIMIZATION

NETWORK OPTIMIZATION

Network optimization is the process involving a set of technologies to improve the performance of the network. Network optimization is necessary to enhance the network performance which ultimately affects the performance of online applications.

With the help of network optimization tools, following factors can be managed:

Minimum utilization of bandwidth
The time required for a packet of data to travel from one point to another, i.e., latency gets reduced
Reduction in packet loss
Minimizes network congestion
Minimizing the variation in the delay of received packets.

TELECOM INDUSTRY

The primary concern of telecom provider is not just facilitating extensive coverage of network to the consumers but to streamline the whole operation for a positive user experience which includes voice coverage data coverage, a responsive customer service team. The increasing internet consumption has led to production and exchange of a significant amount of data. The complexity of the interconnected network, surging traffic has put a strain on the network which is leading to increases demand for the bandwidth. With the increasing volume and type of data in the telecom industry, predicting the network bandwidth has become more difficult.

THE FOLLOWING TELECOM PROBLEMS REQUIRE NETWORK OPTIMIZATION:

TRANSMISSION :

The quality of transmission in an RF communication varies from one place to another.
It is affected either by the distance between the transmitter and the receiver or by reflection and obstruction by a structure(natural or human-made).
Pathloss, shadowing, and fading are the common transmission problems.

INTERFACE PROBLEM:

A stand-alone network can face two major interference problems:

The interference caused by frequency reuse of the cellular network is co-channel interference. It is the ratio of the level of the received desired signal to the level of the received undesired signal.

The interference caused by the adjacent neighboring frequencies, when some of the power in the adjacent frequency breaks through the receiver filter and causes adjacent channel interference.

STEPS INVOLVED IN NETWORK PLANNING AND OPTIMIZATION:

SITE SURVEY:

An RF Engineer will be sent to the site for verifying the accessibility and feasibility of the cell site, and then they will perform the technical survey considering the factors like clutter possibility and range, latitude, microwave linking, etc. Gauging upon these factors, he will put forward the calculates antenna orientation and tilt.

DRIVE TEST

With the help of a distinctively designed software, GPS and a map, the network in the proximity of the cell site is checked by test engineer and the channel and hopping frequencies are allocated.

OPTIMIZATION

If there is any network or channel interference, the antenna orientation and the tilt is fixed.

Network optimization enhances the interactivity and addresses data quality issues with automation. Network optimization can help the telecom service provider by better predicting the loads, minimizing churns, facilitating faster download speed., thereby enhancing the overall consumer experience.

If you are an individual or a telecom organization looking for network optimization solutions or communication instruments like vector antenna analyzer, the signal transmitter, drive test scanner, etc., you can reach out to an online platform that can help you with network communication planning, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization.
