8 Things To Do After You Move To Toronto

So you’ve just moved to Toronto and had the help of Toronto movers which can be overwhelming especially if you’re relocating from a small town or city. Consider all the positive aspects of a city like Toronto that continues to grow among them are lots of career options. A wide variety of restaurants serving ethnic food, shopping and a vibrant nightlife make it a great city you’ll enjoy. Once you’re more or less settled in there are some things you’ll want to do right away.

Get Your Address Info Updated Anytime you move you’ll want to take care of this as soon as possible. Let family and friends know your new contact information if you haven’t already done this. Update your address if you shop online, change the address on your driver’s licence or apply for a new one if necessary. Notify your bank and Service Canada about the change of residence to keep them up to date.

Locate Your Closest Bank. With online banking we don’t visit our branch that often but you’ll want to find the branch nearest your home.

Learn Your Way Around The TTC With such a great transit system you’ll find it easier to get around using public transit. New residents often end up selling their cars when you consider the cost and scarcity of parking.

Find The Grocery Store. With high end boutique grocery stores and the usual chain stores you’ll want to find one close by. Farmer’s markets are available when you want to stock up on fresh, local produce.

Try All The Restaurants In Your New Neighborhood. Time for you to explore what type of ethnic food the nearby restaurants offer.

Find Your Local Coffee Shop. Starbucks can be found on every corner in Toronto but maybe you prefer some local flavor. Finding that shop where you can sit and people watch, work on your laptop as you linger over that coffee or latte may be more to your liking.

Take Your Dog To The Dog Bowl.  Toronto is a very dog friendly city depending on which part of town you live in. Making the trip to Trinity Bellwoods Park is a great place to take your pet They can play in the dog bowl ( the ravine where dogs are allowed off leash ) and mingle with all the other pups. This is a good way to get to know some new people yourself.

Attend A Festival. Large cities like Toronto have lots of food and neighborhood festivals to offer. You might want to take in these as well: Hot Dog, NXNE, TIFF, TURF, Bestival, CMWO and Buskerfest.
